Now that reception history research approaches have become popular, in the previous issue of the journal we looked at the issue of its theoretical bases (NPBl 2/97, p. 28 f). Hans Van Crombrugge provides a possible answer in the following contribution that differs in significant aspects from that of Fritz Osterwalder and Jürgen Oelkers, the dominant voices of recent years. Van Crombrugge supports less known – at least in the German-language research – aspects of historiography research.
