Pestalozzis fabelhafte «Nachforschungen»
[Pestalozzis Fabul-ous «Inquiries»]
(Michel Soëtard)
Pestalozzi's «Inquiries» of 1797 is considered to be Pestalozzi's main philosophical work, in which, drawing on the experiences of the French Revolution, he deals with the problem of «social unsociability» of man (Kant's notion). It is often forgotten in dealing with this work that Pestalozzi in the same year published his «Fabeln» [Fables], which he viewed as a counterpart to «Nachforschungen». Soëtard's article traces the coherent line through both works.

Politik, Demokratie – Pädagogik, Erziehung und öffentlicher Unterricht
[Politics, Democracy – Education, Upbringing, and Public Education]
(Fritz Osterwalder)
Political crises – to which political revolutions also surely belong – have always resulted in educational reforms. Osterwalder investigates this phenomenon with regard to the Helvetic Revolution of 1798, seeking both references and consequences of the Helvetic school reforms.
